I’m Katie Hall, a photographer and designer from Newark, Delaware. I studied graphic design in college and I have worked in that field since graduation. I’ve found that what I learned as a graphic designer has translated well into an understanding of many of the skills I use as a photographer today. I’ve only taken one photography course and have taught myself mostly by following talented photographers and developing relationships with some of those I look up to. I asked a lot of questions and did a lot of practicing. To this day, I learn something new with every photo session. I have taken photos since high school and I bought my first DSLR camera in 2009. What started as a hobby that I used mostly on my nieces, nephews, and my friends’ children, has blossomed into one of the most rewarding jobs I’ve ever had – next to motherhood, of course.

My photographic style is a good blend of contemporary portraiture and just enough “real life” to keep the photos light, fun and unique. No two photo shoots are the same because I work hard to reflect my clients’ personalities and style into the photographs. I let you be YOU and I work to capture the beautiful moments that result from these interactions.

My husband, Matt, and I have two beautiful little girls and their adorable little brother. We were married in 2007 and welcomed our first little girl, Maelynn, into our family in 2010. Almost two years later, Adleigh, our second daughter, was born. In the summer of 2017, we were blessed with the gift of a son, Theo, who has been the perfect addition to our family. My family has been and will always be the most inspiring subjects to photograph. I keep my camera out and ready to capture the beauty of life as it happens. Some of the photographs I cherish the most are of the everyday moments that I don’t want to forget. You can see many of these photos in my monthly personal challenge called Project Ten linked at the top of my website.
