Project TEN | September

I had big plans for my September photos - to shift a bit from my normal photos of my kids and really stretch myself on a trip we were taking to San Diego. A trip without our kids for our anniversary (and a family wedding) would mean I would have to look at things differently and see new and beautiful things to capture. So, I packed up my camera and during our flight, I realized I left all of my memory cards on my desk at home. Not to worry, I thought. I would just find a Staples or Target and buy a couple. Wrong. I searched 6 different stores and every last one of them either didn't carry them or they were out of stock. So, I left beautiful San Diego with a phone full of photos and lots of gorgeous memories. This month also marked the end of summer. With the calendar filling up for fall I packed the girls up for  a long weekend trip to visit my closest college friend, Melissa and her sweet daughters. I am so thankful that one of my dearest friends had daughters the same time I had mine. These little girls have spent time together on 4+ visits with eachothers' homes and this visit we really saw their friendships take shape. They fought less than previous trips and laughed hard! Such a sweet time.

The end of summer also lets us bid farewell to the last warm evenings we have to play outside and get dirty. Maelynn has recently taken to her balance bike regularly and when we found this skate park by our home, she has asked to go back every evening. She showed her bravery in trying new things at the park with much bigger boys doing dangerous tricks all around her. It barely phased her. In fact, on this night, she flew over her handle bars trying a "trick" off the platform. With a busted chin and big tears, she shook it off and got right back out there. My heart soared with pride for the passion that little girl has for doing things well. I wont stand in her way!
